Adoptive Breastfeeding Resource Website (ABRW)
This website provides information and support for adoptive mothers interested in breastfeeding.

Provides parenting support and information including breastfeeding reading lists, links, advocacy alerts, a breastfeeding art gallery and a list of breastfeeding publications.

AnotherLook, a not for profit organisation dedicated to gathering information, raising critical questions and stimulating needed research about breastfeeding in the context of HIV/AIDS. Its internet chat list and website, <>dialogue with researchers and those responsible for making recommendations about the feeding of infants born to mothers diagnosed as HIV positive and public presentations. It looks for scientific proof that infectious human immunodeficiency virus is transmitted from mother to baby through breastmilk and clear, published scientific evidence that formula feeding is preferable to breastfeeding for health outcomes of infants born to mothers diagnosed as HIV positive.

Empathic Parenting Online Parenting Course
Offers free guided study on parenting, including sections on birth, breastfeeding, separation, the family bed, baby weaning, the influence of a parent’s upbringing on their own children, the development of the brain and the influence of culture.

International Baby Food Action Network
Provides IBFAN press releases and publications on various aspects of breastfeeding, especially company violations of the International Code on Marketing of Breastfeeding Substitutes. It provides latest information on the activities of IBFAN working groups and the resource centre’s collection of publications and archival materials. IBFAN has websites in English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese.

International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA)
The website provides information on ILCA, its programmes and activities. Further information is available in folders on ILCA affiliates, education, research, publications, career mart, bookstore, IBCLC Day and other Links. It also offers study modules, teaching strategies, how to select a lactation management course, etc. It includes announcements of conferences and other events, membership renewal, newsroom reports, and a Sydney Discussion Board for the Sydney 2003 ILCA Conference.

International Pediatric Chat (IPC)
A nonprofit organisation of pediatric professionals from 127 countries who use live Internet typing (chat) and voice chat to communicate with each other. IPC supports the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative and does not accept funds from formula companies. Weekly chat topics include general pediatrics and breastfeeding.

Jan Riordan’s Breastfeeding Website
Information on an Internet course on breastfeeding, links with other Web lactation-related sites, new research results and Jan Riordan’s books on breastfeeding.

Jane’s Breastfeeding and Childbirth Resources

The La Leche League website provides information about the organisation, its departments and its activities. Also on the site are lists local La Leche League Groups and contacts around the world, so that mothers can find mother-to-mother breastfeeding support meetings. The LLLI site also provides a large collection of breastfeeding and parenting articles and frequently asked questions pages. In addition, it features links to online chats (like an LLL meeting in cyberspace) sponsored by LLLI and a way for mothers to ask breastfeeding questions of accredited LLL Leaders via return email (called Breastfeeding Help Forms). Visitors to the LLLI site may also order products from LLLI’s extensive collection of publications on breastfeeding and parenting issues.

Documents and articles containing actions and ideas to protect, promote and support breastfeeding can be found in the various sections of the website and in different languages. The website also encourages visitors to participate in WABA’s programmes and keep up-dated in the developments within the breastfeeding movement.
